first visit to family

Post by heavy-seas » Sun Mar 05, 2006 8:33 am

I am about to visit the family of " my girl"
YES ,,, i did read about this in the book !!
my question ...
there is a mother (old and a little sick )
3 brothers of my girl and my girls children .
An 18 yr old girl and a 17 yr old boy . Does the visitor bring gifts ? and what type of gifts ? souviners types of things ?
I am confused as to who to buy gifts for, and how extravagent the gifts should be .
the family is not rich ( nor am I )

by the way ,,, Thailand Fever has probably saved this relationship ! Glad that I have read it ![/b]

Hi

I would like to post a reply but I guess I may be too late to do this. If you haven't made the visit let me know and I'll post what I did when I visited my gf's family

I didn't actually take anything when I went to the the parents.

I'd like to hear about other peoples experiences.

Generally, the best advice I could give would be to ask your girl for her opinion in this matter.
She knows her family best.

Besides this a few gift ideas that I would consider:

Branded whiskey for the brothers (Johnnie Walker Black Label).
Maybe the boy is some kind of sports fan (could be soccer). If so, some fan shirt of his favourite soccer club.
For the girl it’s tricky. Maybe some beauty related stuff, or maybe a CD of her favourite boy group.
Finally money, and nothing but money for the mother.

Alberta book and magazine store listings in this Fort Mcmurray Club is still my one of the best place for Reading.
